October 2000 to Present.

Plant Manager.

Responsible for plant layout design and equipment selection for a new molding facility in Reynosa, Mexico, for the manufacture of automotive plastic components. Project was temporarily suspended in March 2001 due to a slowdown in the Automotive Industry. Currently working in Rio Grande Plastics’ Alamo, Texas plant, involved in all facets of the operation, including process control, quality assurance, restructuring and training  of workforce, and plant layout improvements, reporting directly to the President of the company.

Manufacture of automotive plastic products. 

Equipment: 30 molding presses (50 – 700 tons).

Responsible for the start-up of operations of a new plant, including the technology and equipment transfer of a cable assemblies division of Magna Corporation (Canadian automotive company), plant installations, equipment installation, hiring and training of 500 employees (process, industrial and quality engineers, maintenance, q.c.,training, supervisors, operators, etc.). Directly responsible for the following areas: molding, production scheduling and control, materials, quality assurance and customer service.

Ramp-up of fabrication areas and 10 assembly lines, QS 9000 certification. Reached monthly sales of $1.3 MM USD within 6 months of start-up.

Designed and implemented business plans for manufacture and distribution of various plastic products through sales contracts.
