·         Established automated insert molding process, including entire system specifications, design of automation components and mold, and redesign of part to facilitate the automation.  New design netted a 35% part price reduction, cutting the piece part cost by $.25.

·         Successfully launched the production of three different insert molded disk drive components for a major disk drive manufacturer.  Launches were on time and on budget; all parts went through design revisions during the tooling build.

Injection Molding Engineer:  Managed new product production launches, including mold design & build, secondary tooling & fixturing design & build, and product design for injection moldability.

·         Managed and coordinated the production launch of two different product lines consisting of a total of 60 injection molded components, UPC stickers, and related packaging components.  Launch was on time and under budget.

·         Closely monitored molding machine productivity and implemented corrective actions daily to ensure at least 95% operating efficiency and machine utilization.

 

Hayward Pool Products, Inc.                                                                                            1988 to 1990

Tooling Engineer:  Designed special and production machinery and secondary or assembly fixturing, supervised plastic injection mold maintenance and repair, traveled to Spain and Portugal to coordinate injection mold construction, traveled to vendors and other company plants in the US to resolve production problems.
