Synopsis of Work Experience:

 

                Industrial and manufacturing background that covers all facets of tooling, mechanical, manufacturing and industrial engineering work along with operations management.  Responsible for the direct management of engineering, tool room, maintenance, quality, and laboratory personnel on a daily basis.  Prepared and managed budgets for departments, general plant and special projects ranging from $500,000 to over $1,000,000.

 

                Offer a broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and versed in JIT theory and techniques utilizing one piece flow. Experience covers tool design, metal fabrication, machining, diecasting, injection molding, assembly, conversion coatings and painting.  Included with these areas are also grinding, high speed screw machining, die and mold fabrication, manufacturing of fiberglass reinforced polymers, circuit board assembly and testing along with the manufacture of wire and cable.

 

                Worked directly with Japanese masters (consultants) on the implementation of the Toyota Production System.  This system includes areas related to one-piece flow, LEAN or JIT techniques, single-minute-exchange-die (SMED), visual inventory controls (KanBan) and a wide variety of other systems to achieve better utilization of the factory environment. Involved with TQM programs and ISO 9000 certification. Also involved in the establishment and maintenance of routings, bills of material and time incentive standard systems covering a broad scope of products and manufacturing environments.  Worked in the areas of environmental and manufacturing engineering consulting which included issues relating to plant alterations that included structural engineering reviews and applications.

 

                Computer software knowledge includes dBase III Plus, Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word for Windows, Microsoft Project, BaaN (ERP), AutoCad, Basic, and Fortran.

§         Direct teams in the implementation of JIT, LEAN, TPM, TQM, Demand Flow, KanBan,5s techniques for the purposes of increasing manufactured output and inventory turns while reducing lead times and standard costs.

§         .Completed a three year rebuild program for the diecasting department totaling over $2,000,000

§         Managed, directed and coordinated the transformation of the manufacturing facility from a conventional assembly line and vertical integrated manufacturing process to a JIT operation.

§         Investigated, formulated and directed the characterization study, design, construction of an industrial waste water pretreatment system.                 

§         Managed & directed the characterization study, DER negotiations, remedial action and closure of an industrial waste at a cost of $3,000,000.

§         Direct all documentation for the purposes of achieving ISO 9000 certification.

§         Formulated a $1,700,000 project savings plan for 2001

§         Directly supervised environmental issues such as hazardous and residual waste, air quality, and DEP inspections and reports.

§         Headed team for the purchase of ERP software system.

§         Designed and implemented a computerized laboratory information management system (LIMS).

§         Reduced laboratory lead times from thirty working days to ten working days.

§         Increased laboratory on-time delivery to 95%-100%.
