has lead me to gain knowledge in many areas i.e. Computers, Robotics,
Tooling, Motor & Gear Drives, Conveyors, Sheet Metal, Hydraulics,
Pneumatics, Vacuum Systems along with many other areas. I have also none
a lot of training of new CAD operators, and helped with the training of
new designers. During my career I have had to follow many different
standards some for which were ANSI, CE, & AGMA. As a detailer
& designer I have become very proficient at different software packages
such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, Word, Excel and other Microsoft office products.
Professional Work History:
10/2001 - 12/2001 IL-
Position of Contract
Engineer
Responsible for reverse engineering for components that were made by an
outside vendor. Also design and detail of different parts used in
an automated pie, making machine. Helped to point out the need for
training of the CAD operators and cost reduction by correcting the way
in which the engineering drawings were being organized on the network
drive.
2/2000 - 9/2001 IL-
Position of Design Engineer
Responsible for the design, detail and checking drawings for custom automation
machinery. Along with the design of the machinery I was involved
with design reviews with the customer, release of all drawings BOM's to
the shop, de-bug of the machinery after build was complete. Worked
on streamlining the design process by creation of standards used within
Soildworks and a standard parts library. Used Solidworks & AutoCAD
design software.
2/1998 - 10/1999 IL-
Position of Designer
Responsible of the design and detail of custom automation. Maintained
BOM's for the job and worked with machine shop manager for cost reduction
& ease of manufacturing the designed components. Worked with
shop personnel to resolve problems during assembly phase of build. Used
AutoCAD design software.
9/1995 - 2/1998 IL-
Position of Machine Designer
Responsible for the design and detail of web handling equipment used in
the printing & converting industry. I also did some programming
in Excel to transfer a program for infeed drives from HP language to Excel.
8/1994 - 4/1995 IL-
Positions of Project Engineer / Purchasing Manager
Started as a Purchasing Manager to do cost reduction. Cost reduction
was done by trying to work with vendors & engineering to develop standard
components. Develop a standard BOM, which was more complete and
accurate. This was used to get accurate costs for a job so that
they can be used in the future to get a better more accurate quote for
the customer. My next position was as Project Engineer where my
responsibilities were to develop standard components to streamline the
design process and control costs.
9/1993 - 7/1994 OH-
Positions of Design Engineer / Project
Manager
Responsible of all aspects of project from design to getting quotes on
the large purchased components, research vendors which make products which
we have never used, or find new vendors for some products which we did
use. Made customer visits for design reviews and project updates.
This includes a design review, which was held at our headquarters in Uster
Switzerland. My responsibility also included finding temporary fixes
for parts which where in process i.e. a table dresser that can be used
for a preliminary runoff of a machine and was later replaced by the actual
unit need for the application.
Prior to 9/1993
Worked as a Contract Engineer in Rockford, IL & Chicago IL
While working in these positions I worked on a variety of products.
These ranged from Electric Motors, Gaming Equipment, Gearbox's, Dart Machines,
Clutches, Brakes, Fuel Controls, Machine Detailing, Tool Design.
I also had a variety of responsibilities that Included: writing change
notices, acting as a liaison between engineering and an outside vendor
to evaluate designs for cost reduction and manufacturability and ease
of assembly.
