Manager: Hot Runner Dept. / Technical Services

*     Current position requires international travel in the development and testing of a new line of manifolds and nozzles for high cavitations in plastic injection.

*    Established a new department in Hasco Asheville for Technical Services to assist customers’ needs and requests of mold design, while showcasing Hasco’s line of products for the mold making industry.

*     Successfully managed the development and implementation of a rapid design system that reduced design time by 90% of custom ordered Hot Runner Systems. This results in cost savings potentially reaching $1 million + annually.

*    Project Manager in the implementation of a Master Product Configurator into Hasco’s ERP system for a rapid quoting system of standard and non-standard RFQ’s, resulting in improvement of quoting time by 600%.

*    Key figure in the implementation of a CAM system that will gain the company a minimum of $.5 million in annual efficiency measures.

*     Served as board member to author documentation and obtain QS9000/2000 certification.

Tooling Engineer

*     Responsible for managing Automotive tooling programs for well-respected manufacturing facility with sales to customers such as Mercedes, BMW, Nissan and GM.

*    Within six months successfully managed up to $2 million in domestic and international injection molding programs by working with new and existing customers during entire process of mold manufacturing; including, product design, mold design reviews, and on-site mold tryouts.

*     Provided solutions to customers tooling problems that minimized production downtime, while maintaining emphasis on functionality and quality.

*    Served as liaison between engineering and manufacturing departments.

*    Implemented and maintained QS-9000 quality standards.

1987 – 2000       IN

Operations Manager

*     Responsible for planning and directing total operations for manufacturer of plastic injection molds and aluminum die-cast dies with sales reaching $10 million annually.

*    Types of tooling projects included: Appliance (Whirlpool and GE preferred vendor), Automotive (Light pipes, Dash Lenses, Headlight, Taillight housings, Electric Mirror Housings, etc…), Consumer goods (IBM and Compaq preferred vendor), Electronics (Siemens connectors), Telecommunications (End customer Motorola), etc….

*    Molding methods included: Insert molding, Thin Wall, Stack, Gas Assist, and High Cavitations for example.

*     Management of both administrative and production personnel, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and terminating.  Motivate personnel to achieve maximum potential.

*     Cold call prospecting new customers along with existing clients.

*    Oversee and direct each project from initial customer contact through delivery.  Prepare cost projections for materials and labor.  Analyze all phases of each job to determine profit and loss potential.

*     Assisting customers with product design to obtain the necessary part for the project while maintaining the integrity of the tool for prolonged life and function.

*    Review tool design for feasibility in manufacturing, assembly and dimensional accuracy.

*     Implemented manufacturing methods that resulted in annual savings of $500,000.
