Advanced Project Engineer
1993 to 1997
Responsible for the design, development and packaging of automotive controllers
from prototype to high volume production. Coordinated
the product design with manufacturing
activities in both Mexico and Singapore.
· Grew business over 30% a year by
designing snap-fit injection molded plastic enclosures, intricate steel
stampings, sheet metal enclosures, printed circuit boards, and electrical
connectors on multiple programs. (3000 + hours Unigraphics solid modeling)
· Designed and developed Powertrain
electronic controller for all 1996-2000 General Motors Diesel trucks.
Resolved all mounting and thermal issues.
· Performed environmental and mechanical
validation tests in support of GM truck body controllers. Resolved
all outstanding customer issues while serving as Project Manager.
Mechanical Test Engineer
1991 to 1993
Responsibilities included design of 19" rack mount test consoles, test
and vibration fixtures, extender cards and thermal chambers along with
manufacturing support during production.
· Designed multifunctional test console
for hemispherical resonant gyroscope (HRG) navigational control units.
· Designed vibration fixture used
to support C17 Inertial Navigational Unit during environmental shake tests.
Conducted material trade off studies to reduce dampening effects of fixtures
and incorporated findings in future fixture designs for the division.
