Diverse experience designing multi-cavity precision mold tooling to designing structural foam molding, and die stamping dies.

While employed our division went from 20 to over 130 million in sales, the fastest growing division AMP ever had. This success was due largely to coordination between manufacturing, sales, and marketing.

·         Worked with product development groups to construct and sample tooling for pre-production of new product lines.

·         Analyzed parts and balanced runners with MoldFlow® software, and was part of symposium committee with Cornell University to develop simulated flow analysis software.

·         Quoted all new plastic tooling for new projects.

·         Procured and coordinated all mold construction activity for the division.

·         Part of a team of 3 people that setup a 12 press molding operation and 18 man tool shop to support two major product lines.

·         Supervised 9 people in a Mold Design Department, and directed a tooling budget of $1.8mm annually which 25% was constructed internally.

·         Major contributor and part of corporate Mold Design Standards committee.

·         Managed and directed Plastics Department of 12 people to support a $30mm annual sales of a new division. During this time was a Plant Manager of a 10 press molding department until we could fill the position. Restored the department to profitability within this 6 month time period.

 

G-W PLASTICS, Bethel, Vermont               1978

A custom molder precision products and gears, this was one of the most enjoyable jobs I had ever had at the time. I only stayed in this position for a few months due to difficulty with relocating my family, and the opportunity with AMP allowed me to stay in my home.
