·       Oriented with variable stiffness Micro Catheter manufacturing processes.
·       Interface directly with customers and identified manpower requirement for prototype and near production builds, directed and assigned technician in prototype builds, review the existing process to identify and implement cost, quality and productivity improvements, developed engineering drawings, work order and bill of materials and proposed projects for feasibility and applicability of MST technology.
·       Involved in process development and optimization of UAE- Uterine Fibroid Embolization micro catheter assembly i.e. braiding, stainless steel passivation, fuse-down, split marker band attachment and injection molded hub design.
·       Carried out an FEA analysis for 2.8 Fr. Liver Embolization micro catheter composite tubes using proprietary Virtual Tubing Model. Parameters were optimized for torquability, circumferential modulus, kink radius and bending stress.
·       Researched on non-metallic fibers to develop the nuero-MRI guide catheter assembly to perform under 4 Tesla magnetic resonance.  Involved in Chemo therapy, drug delivery and radiation treatment catheter development.
·       Involved in a specialty polymer compounding to optimize a distal tip fluoroscopic image performance of UAE catheter.
·       Developed a static pressure test that withstand the burst pressure up to 300 Psi. for 2.8 Fr. Embolization catheter tubing. Outsourced the vendor to develop and design the test equipments and software programming.
·       Carried out the process flow and FMEA analysis that resulted into 16% increase in UAE micro catheter assembly yield improvement, reduction in 22% direct labor cost and 10% in material cost.
·       Worked as a team member of SIX SIGMA project for the Teflon Coating Process Excellence.
·       Developed various process qualification, validation and test protocols.
·       Developed a 0.5-mil to 2.0 mil PTFE sintering process conducting fluoro-surfactant-Teflon mixing ratio, process equipment upgradation and improvement, pH controlled bacterial growth reduction and glass logic based data acquisition system.
·       Achieved the most flexible and the thinnest Teflon inner layer that available among all commercial grade of PTFE tube.  The application resulted into the most flexible distal tip segment.
·       Optimized and developed the silver clad Cu wire cleaning process to remove the silver oxide from the bare wire surface.
·       Applied Lean Manufacturing principals in catheter assembly and component production.

Ciba Vision Corporation         Process Engineer                        12/01-07/02     Duluth, GA

·       Support engineer in a Business and Technology Innovation Center and liaison between R & D and manufacturing.
·       Involved in contact lens mold processing, optical surface testing, thermal and UV curing, lens separation and coating processes and inspection of the dry and wet contact lenses.
·       Conducted the processing trials for rats and rabbits for clinical studies.
·       Designed a compound for transparent rods of specific optical properties to reduce the UV reflection and increase the IR transmission for DailiesÔ lens process. The spectrographs were obtained to determine a specific color to pass the %UV and %IR light to make the master batch for Cyclo Olefin extruded rods.
·       Carried out the relationships between molding parameters and lens metrology i.e. center thickness, peak-valley, radii and sag measurement.
·       Involved in a team to develop and anti microbial compound for lens case cover to reduce the bio film build -up.
·       Conducted the molding trials to optimize the process parameters for lenses of irregular astigmatism i.e. toric progressive.
·       Knowledge of regulatory standards and documentation for a Class-III medical device manufacturing environment i.e. SOP, MPI, DHR etc.
·       Trained on GMP Training guidelines and documentations.
As an effect of reorganization of R& D department resulted into budget cut and overlapping of my position, CV and I mutually agreed to end the tenure with the effect of my resignation from July 2002.

Aclara BioSciences Inc. Process Development Engineer    01/01-08/01             Mountain View, CA

·       Lead process engineer in a cross-functional team environment with the program director, biochemist and technicians.
·       Involved in a Gene- Chip technology development through a support role to program manager and design engineers.
·       Responsible for process trouble shooting for plastics materials (auto florescence), processing parameters (micro-replication), surface treatment (UVO and Plasma), nano-welding, thermal diffusion bonding and surface hydrophilic treatment. Carried out ancillary equipment specification and involved in a vendor liaison networking.
·       Designed the vacuum assisted injection mold circuit to compensate the pressure drop and to aid the filling at 27Hg and 2 seconds of evacuation time. Involved in a design review for Arteas 96 gene chip platform i.e. energy director design, hot runner valve gate location, gate pitch distance and flow promoter skirt design.
·       Performed the 3 factorial DOE to quantify the effects on micro-replication between the interaction of packing pressure differential shirk age and mold temperatures. The DOE impacts on GNDT analysis of a micro fluid dispenser design.
·       Involved in a team to help the design of a terminator for a thermal cycling of an injection mold (Patent in progress)
·       Oriented on nickel electroforming process and surface hardening effects of the e-form on the micro replication.
The position was eliminated because of cancellation of certain project due to the available funding.
