Transfer
of Engineering-Plastics
Business from Kobe Steel to Mitsubishi Engineering-Plastics
The
engineering-plastics business of Kobe Steel, Ltd., (Head Office:
Tokyo; President: Hiroshi Mizukoshi) has been transferred to Mitsubishi
Engineering-Plastics Corporation (Head Office: Tokyo; President:
Hideo Fukutani). The same products and technical services will continue
to be offered by MEP.Kobe Steel's engineering-plastics business
specializes in advanced compounding materials such as carbon fiber
reinforced polyamides and glass fiber reinforced polycarbonates.
The company's engineering-plastics sales volume has expanded in
recent years, especially for OA equipment applications, and how
to strengthen the competitiveness of the business has become a key
issue. MEP, on the other hand, understands the necessity to shore
up this segment of demand. This transfer of business helps to round
out MEP's operations, including raw materials, compounding, sales
and technical service, as well as to increase its international
competitiveness.
