Process Engineer 04121

LOCATION: Louisiana

INDUSTRY: Multiple PVC Compound manufacturing

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In conjunction with plant operating personnel, plant maintenance personnel, technical resources, business management resources and plant management:
· Provide technical engineering support for compound manufacturing lines
· Identify and implement process optimization opportunities focusing on: Safety, Quality, Consistency, Efficiency, Productivity
· Identify and implement equipment optimization opportunities focusing on: Safety, Design, Efficiency, Productivity
· Review and update manufacturing specifications as required
· Investigate causes of non-conformance and develop/implement corrective actions
· Provide leadership and foster cooperative, team oriented work environment
· Interact with customers to understand their requirements and resolve issues
· Participate as a resource for other individuals and groups in the organization
· Participate as a member of technical resource teams as appropriate ( ie: Conquest, Audits)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be willing to work a varied work schedule and off hours to facilitate operational issues
· Must use personal protective equipment as required
· Must be able to travel as required for training, meetings and customer/ supplier visits

REPORTS TO: Technical Manager and/or Plant Manager

SUPERVISES: n/a

EDUCATION:
· Minimum BS in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferable).
Other related technical fields will be considered

EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT:
· Prior experience in manufacturing/ process engineering. 3-5 years minimum
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Ability to work in groups as well as on an individual basis
· Excellent time management skills
· Ability to organize effectively
· Demonstrated proficiency with PC's and Microsoft Office Software
· Expertise/ experience with Provox Control Systems, Process 1/ Process Model, LIMS, SAP
