SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Develop and applies advanced engineering theories, methods, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems.
. Directs projects or major phases of design projects and coordinates the efforts of technical support staff.
. Analyzes, evaluates and plans methods of approach and organizes means to achieve the solution of complex technical problems.
. Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
. Recommends corrections in technical analysis and design to ensure project completion.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
. Develop and recommend short and long-range goals and objectives for Lean Manufacturing.
. Evaluate and current manufacturing systems to determine areas for improvement and recommend implementation schedule.
. Maintain current knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, prepare capital request, cost justifications to support recommendations.
. Develop mechanisms to monitor efficiencies and effectiveness of technological solutions and processes.
. Establish continuous improvement goals and execute action plans to achieve.
. Prioritize and implement schedules for assigned projects using appropriate planning methods and facilitate project implementation.
. Serve as a facilitator coach for teams during Kaizen events and follow-up to assist supervisors to sustain work improvement.

REPORTS TO: n/a

SUPERVISES: May supervise or coordinate the work of engineers, other professionals, technicians and others who assist in specified assignments.

EDUCATION:
. Bachelors Degree with 8-11 years experience
. Masters Degree with 6-9 years experience
. Ph. D with 3-6 years experience

EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT: Degree should be in Business, Industrial Engineering, Materials or related discipline. Manufacturing or Industrial Distribution experience preferred. Must have strong knowledge of manufacturing and distribution principles practices and procedures, as well as a comprehensive industry-related goods and services and general business operations. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and a proven track record with application. This position requires an action oriented individual with exceptional communications skills. Ability to perform highly complex and varied tasks using independent knowledge.
