Edale's Alpha for Africa

News Center - Although Edale has a heritage stemming from the 1950's there is no looking back for this up-and-coming company

Alpha from Edale Ltd.

February 1, 2005 - Jobwerx News - Edale ltd is the UK's leading supplier of narrow web flexographic presses for the printing of labels, packaging and light cartons, consisting of design, manufacturing and global support.

With their machines churning out requisitions in over 85 countries to date, the list of grows by the month. Recently breaking into the American market as well as opening a new factory to cope with demand, Edale has the sales figures to back up their positive outlook.

Edale announced its first installation in South Africa. Partnered with Printing Products who also have over fifty years experience in the industry, Edale looks set to break the oligopoly that is the South African flexo market. Floors Coetzee of Printing Products is confident about the demand for flexographic printing presses: "The flexo industry has really picked up in the last three years, for instance we sold three flexo presses in one year. Whereas before the real flexo markets used to only be in Durban and Johannesburg, six or more presses have now come into Cape Town alone" this is showing the nation-wide trend to make use of the obvious advantages flexo offers. He goes on to say "the main players (wide web) are also looking into narrow web now for shorter runs and this is where we come in." This downloading of one to five colour work from larger more expensive presses has become a popular cost cutting exercise in the industry. Many companies have chosen the Edale Alpha for exactly that reason. The Alpha can convert a wide range of label, packaging and ticketing substrates from 50 - 350 microns and up to a 330 mm webwidth. The Alpha's compact design and quick job change makes it perfect for short run lengths.

Packaging World Is the leading publication covering the business of packaging....

With ten sales within a month of its official launch and over 80 to date in 21 countries, South Africa can now be included in that list. Label Techniques in Cape Town now stands among the many high profile companies scattered across the globe to have an Edale on their shop floor. Label Techniques serve a diverse client base within the food and beverage industry who require the highest quality print often with short run requirements. Therefore the Alpha was an obvious choice. Their machine is a five colour model with four I/R and one U.V. drying units with a number of options which are possible to be retro fitted should their needs change. Label Techniques echo Edale's own method of business by offering personalised tailor made products and services making it the perfect partnering.

Edale's trio of flexographic presses along with limitless options and their dedication to custom built machines matching the customers requirements means they can truly live up to their marketing tag line 'The Complete Solution'. Current range of flexopress machines include the Alpha, Beta / B-Range, E250S, Sigma as well as narrow web bespoke machinery titled Webmastery.
