Plastics Machine Maker
Arburg's New Mexican Ops at Plastimagen
Injection moulding machines manufacturer for plastics processing, Arburg,
new Mexican subsidiary to feature medical technology and in-mould labelling
applications.
Arburg will present itself in two senses of the word at the Plastimagen,
which will be held at Centro Banamex in Mexico City from April 8 - 11,
2008. On the one hand, Arburg’s new Mexico subsidiary will celebrate its
debut. On the other, trade visitors will be able to gain an impression
of the high performance of Arburg’s products. At the Arburg exhibition
stand, No. 300, at the 15th International Plastics Industry Exhibition
& Conference, a hydraulic Allrounder 470 C Golden Edition will produce
a moulded part for the medical technology sector. Moreover, Wittmann will
present an electric Allrounder 570 A running an in-mould labelling (IML)
application at their exhibition stand.
Customer support further expanded in Mexico
“For us, the Plastimagen is the perfect forum for presenting our new subsidiary,
our strategy for the Mexican market and our product range,” says Arburg
Managing Director Sales, Helmut Heinson. “With our own organisation in
Mexico, we are continuing the good work of our former trading partner
IPLYH and are further enhancing our presence and customer proximity, as
well as our range of services.” In Guillermo Fasterling, Arburg has found
a subsidiary manager with a wealth of experience in the plastics injection
moulding sector. He will be provided sales support by the IPLYH Director
Juan Carlos Lachica. “This solution reflects the continuity and the customer-orientation
for which Arburg is known around the world,” says Helmut Heinson.
Arburg is a German machine construction company and one of the leading
global manufacturers of injection moulding machines for plastics processing.
The subsidiary’s comprehensive service offerings include highly-qualified
service technicians who work on-site, a well-equipped spare-parts store
ensuring rapid availability, a training room and a presentation room in
which Arburg products can be demonstrated and tested, and where customers
can be provided comprehensive training and support.
Allrounder Golden Edition with medical technology application
From the comprehensive Allrounder range, a representative of the successful
hydraulic Allrounder Golden Edition machine series will be shown in Mexico.
These machines feature fixed clamping force/injection unit combinations
and offer technologically-superior standard equipment. This includes a
highly wear-resistant plasticising cylinder, fast-switching valve technology
and the Selogica “direct” control system with touchscreen. The Allrounder
Golden Edition is also characterised by an extremely attractive price
and, like all Arburg machines, it is produced exclusively at the Lossburg
parent factory.

The exhibit at the Plastimagen is an Allrounder 470 C Golden Edition
with a clamping force of 1,500 kN and a size 400 injection unit. Equipped
with a 24-cavity mould made by Schottli, so-called overcaps for use in
the medical technology sector are produced. The cycle time of this application
is approximately seven seconds.
Electric Allrounder at the Wittmann stand
During the Plastics Industry Exhibition & Conference, an electric
Allrounder A will also be on show running an IML application at the Wittmann
exhibition stand. A cup featuring a label will be produced in a cycle
time of only 2.8 seconds using a two-cavity mould. In this complex cell,
all the automation elements will be integrated around an Allrounder 570
A which, at 2,000 kN and with an 800 injection unit, is currently the
largest electric injection moulding machine for plastics processing in
the Arburg machine range. The entire IML automation process has been adapted
and optimised by Wittmann. It provides the labels for the cups, separates,
transfers and places them in the mould, removes them and, finally, stacks
the finished items on a conveyor belt according to cavity.
The use of ALLROUNDER injection moulding machines extends far beyond the
field of standard applications. Thanks to the various equipment versions,
the ALLROUNDERs can also be utilised in a modular manner for special processes
and applications.
PLASTIMAGEN Mexico offers exclusive access to the plastics industry in
Mexico and Central America. The International Exhibition & Conference
is recognized internationally as the most comprehensive plastics machinery,
equipment and materials tradeshow in Mexico. At PLASTIMAGEN Mexico 2008,
over 700 exhibitors will showcase machinery & related equipment, custom
plastics processor, tools and molds, recycling equipment, chemical raw
materials, components, finished products, synthetics resins, instrumentation
and process control as well as other services.
