Automotive colors system restores classic cars to their former glory

In connection with the COLOR-PROFI System (CPS) matching colors for vehicles of any age can be identified – even for "veterans" from the turn of the century, as tests at classic car meetings have demonstrated.

The effect of Classic Car Colors on old vehicles is like that of a wellness program because the matching original colors can now be identified and applied.

COLOR-PROFI System: Pinpointing the right color
The COLOR-PROFI System is the hub of the "Classic Car Colors" database. That is what facilitates and speeds up color identification: the system is comprised of individual swatches that each belong to a color group. In this way it is possible to find the matching automotive paint for almost all classic cars, without showing any difference between the refinish and the original color.

The system is based not only on color information and samples that have been collected over the decades but also on up-to-date data. The matching color can be identified by comparing the old coating with a suitable color from the COLOR-PROFI System.

The Classic Car Colors were clearly demonstrated at the Glasurit booth with a special exhibit, a black Mercedes 170 DS built in 1952. Here are the specs of the "speedy grandpa“: engine capacity 1.8 liters, four cylinders, and maximum speed 110 kph.

In addition, visitors to the Glasurit booth were also able to find out about leather care solutions, a topic that is of major interest to classic car aficionados. The Glasurit dealer TOPLAC was on hand to provide advice and practical demonstrations on a leather seat.

Techno Classica in Essen is the key show for Glasurit
Techno Classica is the largest trade fair for old vehicles in the world. In 19 halls at the Essen show there were more than 1,000 exhibitors attending from 26 countries. About 150,000 visitors took the opportunity to obtain information and advice.
