Chemtura launches new antiwear additives for lubricants

Naugalube 810 additives from Chemtura are oil soluble and can be used in lubricants to provide antiware protection while meeting low phosphorus requirements.

Chemtura Corporation, MIDDLEBURY, Conn., USA, is launching Naugalube* 810, the next generation of non-phosphorous, non-sulfur and sulfated ash-free anti-wear additive, with a friction-reducing benefit. This multifunctional new anti-wear additive is especially targeted for incorporation into GF-5 (2010), PC-11 (2011), ACEA, and OEM oils.

Naugalube(R) 810 has been proven in rigorous Wear and No-Harm Testing, including Four-Ball and Cameron-Plint Engine-Oil Wear Results, Cameron-Plint Friction-Testing, Cu/Pb Corrosion Evaluation, Additive Compatibility, and Thermal Behavior.

RESULTS: New power to fight wear.

Excellent Anti-Wear Performance:
. Permits reduction in phosphorus to 0.05 wt. % or less.
. Anti-Wear Synergist with low concentrations of ZDDP (less than0.05 wt.% P)
. Friction Modifier Properties
. Suitable for broad range of base stocks Group I - IV.
. Typical Treatment Rate: 0.5 to 1.0 wt.%.
. Non-corrosive to copper and lead
. Viton Seal compatible
. Non-metallic, does not contain Cl, N, P or S
. Compatible with other additive components
. Non-deposit forming on thermal degradation

Naugalube 810 is an oil soluble ashless non-phosphorus and non-sulfur containing, anti-wear and friction modifier additive. It has excellent performance to permit reduction in phosphorus to less than 0.05 wt. % without loss of anti-wear protection.

Petroleum additives are used to improve performance in various petroleum-related products, including motor oils, industrial oils, metal-working fluids and fuels. Products include detergent petroleum sulfonates that help lubricants keep car, truck and ship engines clean with minimal wear and tear.
