Improve Surface Finish in Stainless Steels With Turning Inserts For demanding applications in stainless steels, the new UP turning inserts from Kennametal developed for the KENNA PERFECT turning system represent an improved turning geometry.
The new design delivers improved chip control in 300-series stainless
steels and provides a soft cutting action that results in lower cutting
forces. The large rake angle provides less cutting resistance, which improves
both surface finish on parts and extends tool life for increased productivity.
The geometry design also improves resistance to a common insert failure:
depth-of-cut notching.
