LANXESS specialty chemicals group presents newly developed colored pigments The specialty chemicals group LANXESS is presenting the latest pigments for the coloration of construction materials at the Ulmer Betontage trade fair.
At the fore of the Inorganic Pigments (IPG) business unit’s presence at the fair are the new Bayferrox* G Premium pigments. In construction materials, the newly developed granules produce shades with significantly higher saturation and greater brilliance. With Bayferrox GP 365 (black), Bayferrox GP 115 (red) and Bayferrox GP 925 (yellow), products for all common shades are available. The new specialty pigment Bayferrox GP 365 has a significantly stronger blue undertone and greater tinting strength than previous black grades from LANXESS. The products are particularly fast dispersing and have good flow properties. LANXESS also offers Bayferrox C compact pigments and Bayferrox G granules, which are likewise available in the base colors red, yellow and black as well as in brown. Additive metering allows processors to mix the desired shade themselves. The advantages of this metering method for the construction materials industry are twofold: reduced costs due to simpler storage and greater flexibility in providing the colors requested by the customer.
Also being presented is the new Colored Concrete Works initiative. The aim of the initiative is to establish a network of architects, builders, sales partners and concrete applicators to better establish colored concrete as a versatile and elegant construction material. LANXESS distributes easy-to-handle pigment suspensions for use in the manufacture of cast-in-place concrete, pre-cast concrete components and concrete paving stones through its partner, Harold Scholz & Co. GmbH, of Recklinghausen, Germany. Testing institutes have certified the pigment suspensions under EN 12 878 for use in reinforced and non-reinforced concrete. Also available are granules based on Bayferrox and chrome oxide green as supplements to the LANXESS line of granular products, and granules based on carbon black, white pigments and blue pigments. The company markets LANXESS pigments in Germany, the Benelux countries, Austria and Switzerland, and provides expert consultation for customers in the construction industry. The sales partners are also using the joint stand to present a special selection of colors for exposed concrete and selected black pigments in all supply forms for the entire range of construction material applications. The LANXESS subsidiaries ensure customer proximity, service and presence
around the globe. The Competence Center Construction in Krefeld, Germany,
and technical support organizations throughout the world provide additional
customer support. LANXESS produces approx. 300,000 tons per year of iron
oxide and chrome oxide green pigments at its facilities in the U.S.A.,
Brazil, Asia, Australia and Europe. With the exception of a few specialty
grades, pigments for the European construction industry are produced exclusively
at the Krefeld facility. See all the Press Releases from LANXESS sites - Click Here Read a recent article about - Got a Cool Job in Chemicals?- Get the word out today! Our Dedicated Portal Helps U- $ave
