PolyOne Names Gregg McDonald BDD for Automotive Industry

PolyOne Corp, a premier provider of specialized polymers, announces that Gregg McDonald has joined the Company as business development director for the automotive industry.

McDonald will coordinate PolyOne’s global efforts with automotive OEM’s and Tier One suppliers across all business units and regions by identifying and capturing new business opportunities that leverage PolyOne’s full bundle of specialized polymer materials, products and services.

“PolyOne’s portfolio and business model are ideally suited to the automotive industry. The Company’s range of offerings includes color and additives, specialty engineered materials, thermoplastic elastomers, and vinyl compounds, all of which are used widely in automotive production,” said Kurt Schuering, vice president corporate accounts. PolyOne also distributes an extensive line of resins through PolyOne Distribution. Schuering continued, “Gregg will work with automotive OEM’s to identify ways in which PolyOne’s global footprint and broad diversified portfolio of products and services, can be used to deliver quantifiable economic value.”

Most of McDonald’s career has been in the automotive industry and has included time with Carborundum and Ford Motor Company. He comes to PolyOne from SABIC Innovative Plastics (previously GE Plastics), where he has held various leadership positions over the last six years. McDonald graduated from the University of Buffalo with a BS in industrial engineering.
