RPC's Plastics Packaging Underlines Prestige for Bostik

Evo-Stik from Bostik chooses RPC Containers Oakham using innovative packaging of an in-mold labeled plastics pail for their new launch of adhesive products.

A major new packaging launch from Bostik for its renowned adhesive products brand Evo-Stik, is using an in-mold labeled (IML) plastics pail from RPC Containers Oakham to underline its innovation and prestige.

The new Evo-Stik Anti-Germ range represents a significant innovation for the UK adhesives, sealant and grouting markets. Anti-Germ has been specially formulated to kill germs, including MRSA, E.Coli and Salmonella, on contact, and to keep killing them for long-term hygiene.

“Consumers have long been concerned about germs and bacteria within the home. Merchants and tradesmen alike are really recognizing the increasing demand for products such as kitchen work surfaces and sanitary ware that contain antimicrobial materials,” explains Neil Morrell, Evo-Stik product manager.
“New Evo-Stik Anti-Germ takes the protection message to a whole new level, as the launch marks a first in the availability of these anti-microbial products for use around the home to give extra protection against infection,” he adds.

In addition to a number of sealants, the range includes an all purpose Tile Adhesive and Grout in 5L and 10L sizes. Requiring durable and convenient plastics containers for this purpose, Bostik turned to RPC Oakham and quickly realized that the site’s capabilities in IML packaging could further enhance the launch of the range.
“The packaging for the Tile Adhesive and Grout needed to be as strong and striking as the sealants and, after consultation with RPC, we agreed that the use of IML delivers appropriately eye-catching visuals,” comments Jo Simpson, Evo-Stik product manager.

The IML design features a fresh looking green and white livery, complete with a ‘shield’ of guaranteed protection that draws attention to the range of germs that the product will kill.

Anti-Germ Tile Adhesive and Grout is available in Builders Merchants outlets and many leading UK DIY retailers. The launch of the range has been supported by a heavyweight £1.5 million TV advertising campaign, in which the RPC Oakham plastics pail features prominently.
