RPC Delivers a Gourmet Plastics Packaging Concept to Homann

RPC Bebo Plastik has given Homann the ideal packaging format, a custom molded plastics tub, for its newly launched Gourmet range of premium wet salads.

Already the market leading producer of wet salads in Germany, Homann Chilled Food GmbH ("Homann") has created the “Gourmet” concept to further enhance its reputation and distinguish itself from the competition. The range of wet salads includes a variety of delicious flavors and exclusive ingredients such as salmon in mustard-dill dressing, king prawns in pineapple-ginger sauce or cheese bits in honey-mustard gravy.

Finding the right packaging concept was essential to meeting the premium nature of the range, and Homann turned to RPC Bebo Plastik for the strength of the long-term supply relationship and its plastics packaging development capabilities.

The compact square design assists on-shelf stackability as well as providing a single serve format for convenient enjoyment. The 125g plastics tub is thermoformed in ‘glass clear’ APET with a blue lid for an outstanding visual effect, which is enhanced with an in-mold label on the lid, and an innovative cardboard sleeve that is wrapped vertically around the plastics tub.

“Thanks to the high clarity and user convenience of RPC Bebo Plastik’s specially created container, the premium nature of the “Gourmet” range is apparent to retailers and consumers,” comments Thomas Frohlich, Product Manager at Homann.

In 2007 the investment company IFR Capital Plc acquired Homann, a traditional food manufacturer which has evolved from a meat and sausage producer to a well-known supplier of chilled food. The chilled food sector is one of the most dynamic food segments in Europe.
