The Expression 2009 palette aims to help customers tap into the power
of aesthetics to evoke emotions, achieve differentiation, and create instant
brand recognition. SABIC Innovative Plastics’ three worldwide Color Innovation
Centers and online ColorXpress service make it easy for customers to find
or match the precise color and effect for their applications. The company’s
investment in the Expression program and application development centers
helps provide customers with innovative product solutions to help them
deliver business success.
Textures are a new dimension within the Expression 2009 collection. Six
intriguing textures, such as the optical art energy of “who stole my glasses”
and the organic appeal of “squashed bamboo,” add depth and interest without
the need for paint. Combined with a color or special effect from SABIC
Innovative Plastics’ huge array of Visual* resins, these textures can
provide a unique look and feel while reducing system costs.

and textures are meant as an inspiration to customers to think creatively

Expression 2009 features four trends collections which include Textures,
Greens, Whites, and Something Else. These are available in a range of
colors and Visual special effects resins. Color Innovation Centers Partner
with Customers to Achieve Breakthrough Aesthetics SABIC Innovative Plastics’
Color Innovation Centers (CIC) in Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands Selkirk
N.Y., and Shanghai China help customers create stunning, evocative, and
distinctive applications. The centers provide a wide range of design and
technical expertise to guide customers through the selection and implementation
of their color choice.
Customers who wish to work with the Innovation Center staff in person
can request a facility visit. SABIC Innovative Plastics’ color team works
with the customer to explore different colors, effects, and design possibilities,
and conduct on-the-spot color matches. SABIC Innovative Plastics’ Visual
resins, including Lexan*, Cycoloy*, Geloy*, Xylex*, Xenoy*, Valox*, Noryl*,
and Cycolac* resins, not only provide more than 50,000 dynamic color variants,
loadings, and derivatives, but also special effects such as diamond, marbling,
sparkles, frost, smoke, and opalescence — some of which are unique in
the global plastics industry. ColorXpress Services (www.colorxpress.com)
includes a library of 20,000 standard resin colors and offers custom matching
to a sample in seven days or less. Based on customer needs, the global
Color Innovation Centers develop thousands of new custom colors each year.
