Polymer Group, Inc.'s Bonlam Operation Announces Completed Installation of Multiple-Beam Spunbond Line

This new line will be dedicated to the hygiene market and will double the capacity available to serve customers out of the site in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The addition of this line gives PGI's Bonlam operation the ability to produce material that will satisfy the highest hygiene standards in the industry.

With installation complete, commercial production will begin in January of 2004. 100 percent of the production from this line will be used to provide superior hygiene products to PGI customers in Mexico and other parts of Latin America.

Polymer Group's chief executive officer, James L. Schaeffer, stated, "One of PGI's core strategies is to expand our capabilities in high growth, developing markets like Latin America while also focusing on the ever important hygiene area. The addition of this line will allow us to meet the growing demand in this region and maintain our position as the industry leader in the hygiene segment in Mexico. This is just one of a number of initiatives the company is pursuing to grow its franchise in key markets."

Fernando Espinosa, PGI's vice president and general manager of Latin America, added, "Bonlam is very pleased to announce the completion of this line and the ability to meet customers' needs for spunbond products. We have been working with customers since the beginning of the installation process and are pleased with the partnerships we have cultivated that will now be rewarded with high quality products."
