U.S. Army Orders Additional SAPI Body Armor From Simula

Phoenix, Arizona/August 21, 2003/ -- Simula Inc (AMEX: SMU), announced receipt of an order valued in excess of $5.0 million for its small arms protective insert (SAPI) body armor. The new order was received from the U.S. Army's procuring agency, the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP). Shipments are scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. This award is in addition to the Army SAPI order announced on Monday, August 18 for $3.9 million.

Simula currently supplies to the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps and maintains the highest production capacity in the industry. The Company stated that it has received SAPI production orders in excess of $45 million in the last 12 months.
