Kansas City, MO -- April 06, 2004-- Multivac's Card-Backed Contoured Packaging System Creates Made-to-Order Packages.

Creating made-to-order packaging is vital to cutting costs and boosting brand recognition for retail manufacturers of cosmetics, hardware, electronics, toys, and home care products. Multivac has taken blister packaging to the next level by streamlining the process with its card-backed Contoured Packaging system. This unique thermoform fill & seal rollstock R230 packaging system can be customized to create a wide range of unique, innovative packages for any product imaginable. With this automated system in place companies will enjoy increased production, alleviate excess stock and reduce labor, while improving quality and accurately predicting order volumes.

"Multivac's automated packaging system produces high-volume, quality card-backed Contoured Packaging in virtually any size or shape with strong hanger holes and corners that won't bend," says Doug Slomski, Director of Medical Consumer & Industrial Division. "With on-demand packaging, preordering becomes unnecessary and storage obsolete, through implementation of a more efficient process that will make companies more profitable."

Multivac card-backed Contoured Packaging machines use roll fed plastic to make the blister, and sheet-fed card to make the backing, which is easily verified to prevent mismatched blister cards. Simple and quick changeover enables several products to be designed on only one machine with optional inline printing and labeling for optimal efficiency. And, because of the nature of the sealing system, products are better protected and secured from pilfer and tamper resistance. Additionally, placement of Inline EAS tags can be incorporated to prevent shoplifting.
