Armor Holdings announces
components order for
new HMMWV armor system
Seattle, WA, USA--(Jobwerx News)--Armor order includes specific armor
sub-system components to AM General for inclusion in the M1114 Up-Armored
HMMWV vehicle manufacturing process.
Armor Holdings, Inc. announced the receipt of orders valued at $54.6
million from AM General under a blanket purchase agreement supporting
the M1151 and M1152 HMMWV program.
Armor Holdings stated that approximately $42.5 million has been awarded
for armor component production and another $12.1 million for purchase
of long lead materials necessary for anticipated future manufacturing.
The Company advised that the orders will supply specific armor sub-system
components to AM General for inclusion in the vehicle manufacturing process
as well as a specially designed armor package which may be added to the
vehicle in the field to obtain the baseline level of protection specified
for the M1114 Up-Armored HMMWV.
Work under the new award will be performed during 2006 at the Armor Holdings
Aerospace and Defense Group facilities in Fairfield, Ohio and Phoenix,
Arizona.
