Delcam CADCAM software leader best ever first half sales and profits

Seattle, WA, USA--(Jobwerx News)--Delcam, leading developer of CADCAM software in the UK, continues growth in sales and profits with an increase of 11 percent for the half-year.

Delcam, the UK’s leading developer of CADCAM software, is very pleased to announce that the company has achieved its best ever first half sales and profits. Sales for the six months to 30th June, 2005, were 11.8 million, up 11% on the previous best first half sales of £10.6 million achieved in the first six months of last year.

Pre-tax interim profit was £0.80 million; an increase of 21% compared with the £0.66 million achieved in the first half of 2004. The increase in both sales and profits came partly from the addition of Engineering Geometry Solutions (now renamed Delcam USA) to the Delcam group but mainly through increased sales of Delcam’s established Power Solution range of software.

In April, Delcam became one of very few companies to win a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for the third year in succession. Our 2005 Award was in the International Trade category in recognition of the continuing growth in worldwide sales of our Power Solution software.

The period has also seen an increase in the volume of Delcam’s business with Original Equipment Manufacturers; new contracts have been signed that enable our engraving, routing and inspection software programs to be supplied by manufacturers of related equipment. These contracts typically involve much larger volumes of software than we would supply in our normal relationships.

According to the Chairman, T R M Kinsey, "the first half of the year saw improved sales in most of our overseas markets. North and South America, and the Asian countries continued to do well. European sales grew despite the ongoing movement of manufacturing to countries in Eastern Europe and Asia. Our business in the aerospace sector continues to show potential. We expect similar positive trends in the second half of the year, which should allow us to continue our improved performance".
