Technical Training in Plastics Materials and Tooling Concepts

Seattle, WA, USA--(Jobwerx News)--Workshop provides plastics materials compatibility and selection, appropriate tooling concepts with component and mould design.

Building on an already successful partnership in delivering technical training in plastic materials to customers, Distrupol and Engel have announced an ‘open’ free-of-charge event for the industry at large - an Engineering Forum for Multi-Component Applications. Conducted under the banner of the Engel Moulders’ Group, this one-week applications workshop will take place September 12-16 at Engel’s UK headquarters at Warwick.

Throughout the 5-day event, specialists from both companies will give valuable insight into subjects such as materials’ compatibility and selection, appropriate tooling concepts and component and mould design, as well as machine and automation solutions.

Distrupol offers the broadest range of thermoplastics for the 2K industry, from multi-coloured to soft-touch and components’ integration applications. Engel is the world leader in the field of multi component injection moulding machines, due to the inherent advantage of the ‘tiebarless’ concept for such applications. This is complemented by the fact that Engel can offer turnkey solutions, including automation and tooling, direct from its own factories in Austria.

Distrupol Technical and Training Manager, Chi Lam, described Engel with its vast injection moulding knowledge-base as the ideal partner for this activity and that “participants, whether customers or not, will learn the benefits to be gained from the principle of ‘Art to Part’, through which early discussion with all the relevant experts can reduce new product time-to-market and, equally importantly, lower costs.”

Both companies stress that they are pleased to provide this technical support facility free-of-charge, regardless of whether or not there exists the potential to make a sale. However, on request, they will be willing to offer quotations for machinery or materials as part of the workshop.

Interested individuals or companies who would like to investigate the feasibility of using multi-component technology for a particular application, or would like to discuss the relative merits of the various process methods, are invited to book a place during the week. To do this they should contact their local Distrupol or Engel representative, or telephone Distrupol +44 (0)1932 57 33 42 or e-mail chi.lam@distrupol.com.

Engel is the world’s largest dedicated injection machine manufacturer and injection moulding solutions supplier. From eight company owned production facilities located in Europe, North America and Asia, Engel delivers the most comprehensive range of injection moulding machines - from small tonnage to complex automated manufacturing cells - robots, moulds and complete production plants to customers worldwide.

Distrupol provides plastics processors with the most comprehensive link to the world’s leading polymers. Underpinning its customer-centric, Europe-wide materials distribution business is a full range of technical and application development assistance to supplement customers’ own resources. Adapted to individual needs and local conditions, Distrupol’s services give the support that delivers optimised technical and commercial solutions.
