The American Spirit of Keeping The Promise to our Nation's Veterans

Sacramento, Ca. -- March 12, 2003 -- /Xpress Press/ -- On March 27th at 8:00 am at the Sacramento Convention Center, the annual Keeping The Promise trade show and awards ceremonies will convene. This annual event was created by the California Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) Alliance.

The Alliance is a volunteer membership based, nonprofit 501 ( c ) [3] organization serving the disabled veteran business community in California since 1993. Its goal is to promote disabled veteran-owned businesses and identify and educate disabled veterans who would like to go into business for themselves. The organization advocates on behalf of the DVBE community to the state of California, all state agencies, state prime contractors and public utilities commission.

The luncheon awards ceremonies will honor those who have performed outstanding services for the DVBE community during the past year. The morning will be devoted to industry and government sponsored booths and workshops providing information on how DVBEs can increase contracting with the private sector and state and federal government. Over 100 disabled veteran business owners will be attending and will be able to match business opportunities with these entities.

The keynote speaker for this years' annual event is the former Senator and present secretary for the California Department of Veteran Affairs, Maurice Johannessen. Another guest speaker will be Scott Denniston from the Small
Business Administration, Washington D. C., with a legislative update on the federal laws.

The Alliance President, Kevin OConnor, states: "This event has been expanding every year and is touching more disabled veterans lives each year in the state of California and throughout the United States."
