Seattle, WA, USA--(Jobwerx)--APRIL 14, 2005--Eastar Copolyester helps EnviroSafe Labs reduce returned product.

EnviroSafe Labs, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hines Horticulture, Inc., recently launched 1-pound and 2-pound containers of Dynamite™ Plant Food made from Eastman Chemical Company’s Eastar copolyester.

“Previously we were using a tubular container that had a history of cracking during transport and damage on the garden center’s shelf by the rain and the sun’s heat. Therefore, we needed to find an attractive material that would not be susceptible to breakage,” said Mitch Gonzalez, general manager of EnviroSafe Labs. “Since switching to the new clear containers made with Eastar copolyester, I have virtually no returned product due to tube damage.”

The containers, extrusion blow-molded by CKS Packaging, Inc., offer superb clarity and versatility compared to other packaging alternatives. The containers also differentiate themselves from competitors, helping consumers to clearly see the product and reassuring potential buyers of the product’s high quality.

CKS Packaging uses a ‘blank,’ or insert, in the mold design for the 2-pound container to produce the 1-pound size, enabling EnviroSafe Labs to produce two different sizes, or stockkeeping units from the same mold.

Eastar copolyester is specifically developed for extrusion blow molded containers and custom-shaped applications where aesthetics such as superior clarity and exceptional gloss, coupled with design flexibility, drive demand. Eastar copolyester offers toughness and shatter-resistance while enabling exceptional light transmission rates – above 90 percent – when the material is converted into a container.
