for Eastman

Seattle, WA, USA--(Jobwerx News)--Eastman Receives Award for Glass
Polymer family of copolyester resins from Brazil's packaging association,
ABRE.
Eastman Chemical Company was awarded the Embanews Trophy for "Innovative
Material for Cosmetic Luxury applications" on April 1, in São Paulo,
Brazil. The award recognizes Eastman's The Glass Polymer family of copolyester
resins, one of which was selected for the Due by Natura masculine and
feminine perfume plastic caps. Pedro Fortes, Eastman's general manager
for Mercosur and Brazil, accepted the award from Fábio Mestriner, president
of Brazil's packaging association, ABRE.
"Our challenge is to develop materials solutions for the South American
market with continuous innovation," said Fortes. "Our team works closely
with partners like SPP Resinas and Rexam to meet the needs of the cosmetics
market." According to Natura's developing packaging manager, Renato
Wakimoto, "We chose The Glass Polymer copolyester for the material's
glasslike clarity and dimensional stability during finishing."
The award is sponsored by Embanews magazine, which featured the winning
packages at Feira Internacional da Indústria de Papel e da Indústria
Gráfica (International Fair for the Paper and Graphic Industries) and
at the Feira Internacional
da Indústria do Plástico, BrasilPlast 2005 (International Plastic
Industry Fair).
