Competitiveness and Innovation for Chemicals and Plastics Industry

Seattle, WA, USA--(Jobwerx News)--Non profit group ECMSA is running a series of important conferences and seminars with key issues facing the chemicals and plastics industry.

ECMSA (European Chemical Marketing and Strategy Association) a not-for-profit organisation with a membership composed of key business leaders from within the chemical industry is presenting a series of conferences and seminars over the next few months to address two key issues facing the chemicals and plastics industry – competitiveness and innovation.

Accessing and Actioning Competitive Intelligence

On September 28th and 29th ECMSA will run a combined Management Briefing and Interactive Workshop on best practice and new techniques in Competitive Intelligence (CI) to be held at the Belfry Hotel near Birmingham, UK.

Industry speakers at the event will include:

. Phil Durand, market research manager, RWE . . . Thames Water
. Monike Giese, global strategic competitive intelligence, F. Hoffmann-La-Roche
. Pierre-Emmanuel Goffinet, Global Trade Information Services

The latest thinking in Competitive Intelligence will be outlined at the Management Briefing on the 28th September, while the Interactive Workshop, run by well-known CI practitioner, Andrew Pollard on 29th September will look at how companies can make money by competing more effectively and take more money from competitors by retaining current customers and winning new clients.

Companies already represented include BASF, Total, Dow Chemical and Baker Petrolite. The interactive nature of this seminar programme means places are limited so early confirmation is recommended.

How not to Compete on Price

ECMSA will be re-running this successful event in Brussels for the first time, November 28th and 29th. Previous events have been held in Manchester, Zurich and Copenhagen and have attracted senior executives from leading players in the plastics and chemical industry. The event programme which will comprise a half day Management Briefing and full-day Interactive workshop will be lead by ECMSA Council Member and leading marketing guru Phil Allen, CEO of MarketAbility.

The Management Briefing will set the scene for discussion on pricing by addressing a number of HOT topics facing senior industry executives. While the workshop will set-out to identify the pricing strategy options available to today’s chemicals and plastics marketer and seller. Exploring best practice and benchmarking to highlight experience and success in other industries and markets.

Profiting from Innovation

To be held February 2nd – 3rd in Barcelona will be a collaborative event organized jointly by ECMSA and AIQS, the Spanish association of Chemists and Chemical Engineers. This innovation conference will focus on the actual experience of companies in the chemicals, plastics and related industries that have succeeded in commercializing new ideas in the market profitably.

Divided into four sessions: Innovating in Commoditizing Markets; Innovating with People; Innovating with Customers; Innovating – the external prospective. The conference will allow for both formal presentation and roundtable dialogue amongst participants.
