Seattle -- (Jobwerx) -- Green Tokai. a plastics auto parts supplier announced plans to build a 175,000 square foot addition at its Brookville, Ohio plant. New equipment and improvements are also planned to accomodate the new high-tech paint film processing production it developed and patented. The paint film technology process, which is also environmentally friendly, wraps a specialized paint film around a pre-molding plastic part, usually the lower portion of a vehicle door.

According to a recent application with the city of Brookville of Montgomery County, Ohio, there is a $250,000 ED/GE Grant pending for Green Tokai for this Revitalization Project. Approval for this expansion would help the plastics engineering auto parts manufacturer stay competitive and handle work from new contracts with exisiting Automobile manufacturers Hyundai, Honda and Toyota.

Brookville could possibly realize up to 25 new jobs and the planned $11 million expansion would help to retain up to 50 existing jobs. The company employs about 700 people in Brookville. The jobs could also go to Green Tokai's business partner, Arkay Industries Inc., of Alabama, according to the ED/GE application, or to Green Tokai's plant, located within a couple of hours driving distance in Maysville, Kentucky. Only last year, 30 jobs were moved from Brookville to Maysville.

Arkay Industries is a custom plastics injection molder, painter, decorator, and assembler specializing in automotive interior cosmetic parts. In addition to injection molding they also do foam molding, water jet trimming and vacuum forming. Injection molding machines range from 55 ton to 3200 ton.

If the company receives the county grant, work would begin sometime in June and be finished by year end 2005.

Green Tokai is a ISO 14001 rated facility and processes include injection molding, rubber extrusion and plastic extrusion.

Green Tokai parent company is Tokai Kogyo, of Japan.
