Erie, PA, USA, Feb., 06, 2003 /Eriez has announced the opening of a new manufacturing and sales facility in China. The plant is located in Shanghai’s Pudong, free trade zone. This new facility positions the company to expand sales of core magnetic and vibratory products planned to be manufactured in China while increasing US domestic sales of advanced separation and vibratory equipment by being more competitive.

Currently, Eriez annually exports $3 million of sophisticated magnetic separation and minerals processing equipment used in China’s coal mining operations. According to Dr. Kou, General Manager, Eriez China, The new facility in China will provide not only a low-cost manufacturing base to compete in China’s growing ceramic, plastic and food processing markets, but will also improve sales, service and aftermarket support on advanced equipment imported from the United States.

The Chinese market has become Eriez’ largest export market. The addition of this Chinese facility is critical to Eriez’ mission of worldwide leadership in our industry, added Tim Shuttleworth, Eriez’ Manager Director - International.
