Monochrome touch screen lowers price point for advanced control functionality

Moorpark, CA/August 8, 2003/Recently introduced, the New Neo™, at the NPE 2003, McCormick Place (Chicago, IL) a feature rich, yet affordable operator interface, designed specifically for its Altanium® C-Series of hot runner temperature controls.

The new Neo™ allows us to offer a twelve zone hot runner temperature control system with operator interface for $3,500, without having to compromise on functionality. There is no better value out there" stated Tim Triplett, American MSI's President and CEO.

The new Neo™ operator interface features a monochrome touch screen with a resolution of 320x240. It displays set point, actual temperature, power output, slaving, and alarms for up to twelve control zones on a single page. The user-friendly interface incorporates easily recognizable graphical symbols, making temperature control configuration and monitoring extremely intuitive.

"Neo™ was designed for the global market and is totally language independent," added Fred Humbert, American MSI's Executive Vice President of Sales, " it is ideal for companies that want to use a single global standard for control systems."

The Neo™ operator interface can be mounted on top of a freestanding control unit or on the injection molding press. The small unit comes in a rugged, steel enclosure with a liquid and dust tight seal. Bright with high contrast, the Neo™ screen has a wide viewing angle, suitable for adverse lighting conditions and off-angle viewing.
