Polimoon plastics products, developer and manufacturer of a wide range of packaging products within the consumer, chemical and medical industries, has winning criteria for ability to create new employment opportunities, profitability, market and quality management levels and growth in export sales. In addition the Group has some production of customised products to other industries, such as the marine and leisure industry.

Polimoon's buy and build strategy is showing results in the "new Europe". The winning criteria for the award were Polimoon's ability to create new employment opportunities, profitability, market and quality management levels and growth in export sales.

As part of Polimoon's strategy to acquire and develop new companies in the group, the factory in Estonia, Rõngu was taken over in 2002. The factory showed improvement potential and would provide a foothold in the Eastern European market.

When Polimoon took over the factory produced plastic boxes and trays for local and Finnish customers. Today the factory has become a quality supplier for the automotive industry raising exports sales by over 120 percent.

A new building has been constructed, parts of the old factory have been refurbished, and a secondary expansion started in 2004. The production machinery has also been updated with quality production equipment to be able to meet the demands from the customers and to transfer business from other Polimoon units.

Today the unit is a profitable business with highly skilled and motivated people supplying quality products across Europe. Polimoon has increased the number of employees by more than 100 percent. Sales are more than three times the level when Polimoon took over and profitability (EBITDA) has improved from 16.6 percent to 19.2 percent since the acquisition in 2002.

"We are honored by this award. The team in Rõngu has made impressive progress and shown excellent initiative and motivation in the challenging transition of the factory. It also confirms Polimoon's successful buy and build strategy. The group provides local factories with leading production methodology, while the presence gives the Group invaluable local insight", says Arne Vraalsen, President and CEO.

Polimoon has approximately 2000 employees with 450 employed in Norway, where also head office is located. Examples of products include bottles for sauces, shampoos, disinfectants, deodorants, canisters for hazardous chemicals, IV bags for medical care, and airbag covers for passenger cars.
