International Award
for Scientific Papers
Seattle -- (Jobwerx) -- Quadrant Award 2005. International award for
scientific papers in the field of engineering and high-performance plastics
and composites.
As a leading global manufacturer of high-performance thermoplastic materials
and composites in the form of semi-finished and finished products, Quadrant
is to confer for the first time an international award for outstanding
academic achievement. Graduates who have received a PhD or Master’s
degree in the field of Materials and processes related to engineering
and high-performance plastics and composites between August 1, 2004,
and July 31, 2005, are invited to enter. The Quadrant Award 2005 will
be conferred for two scientific papers, with prizes of EUR 15 000 (PhD
level) and EUR 5 000 (Master's level).
The launch of the Quadrant Award is intended to foster talent and facilitate
access to industry for plastics scientists and engineers after completion
of their academic training. Quadrant is also seeking to further intensify
the good cooperative relationship it already enjoys with the scientific
community. Theses submitted at a recognized university and no more than
one year old may be entered for the Quadrant Award 2005. An international
jury of experts will evaluate the theses. Applicants nominated by the
jury for the shortlist will be invited to the awards presentation ceremony
in autumn 2005, prior to which they will have an opportunity to present
their papers.
The following documentary material in English must be received by Quadrant
by July 31, 2005: a one-page summary of the degree or doctoral thesis,
curriculum vitae, professor's letter of recommendation, copy of the
degree certificate received (decisive for effective date). This documentary
material should preferably be forwarded using a form specifically designed
for this purpose at the Quadrant website.
Quadrant is a global leader in high-performance polymer material solutions
in the form of semi-finished and finished products. These specialty
engineering thermoplastics and composites are superior in performance
over metals and other materials, and are used in a growing number of
applications developed with leaders in a wide range of industries.
