Plastics Plant

Seattle, WA, USA--(Jobwerx News)--Rhodia Engineering Plastics, the
worldwide specialist in Engineering polyamides, to open new engineering
plastics compounding facility at its Shanghai site in China.
Rhodia Polyamide recently celebrated the groundbreaking of its new engineering
plastics compounding facility located on a Rhodia Shanghai multi-activity
site. It is the second plant built in Asia by the company since 2003,
bringing the company’s Asian production up to 80,000 Tons.
Rhodia Engineering Plastics continues to extend its market reach through
a program of global investments. With its 8 production facilities along
with 10 R&D and technical centres, Rhodia Engineering Plastics covers
all major areas for polyamide consumption, with the capability to develop
products and technologies locally.
Rhodia Polyamide will have there the expertise to produce the full spectrum
of compounded product. The Company provides intermediates for polyamide
or polyurethane, polyamide polymers, as well as a complete downstream
range of added value products including engineering plastics polyamides
Technyl® PA6, PA66 and PA 66/6, Technyl Star™, as well as Technyl® Alloy
and other engineering thermoplastics. It gives the strong base to serve
all type of customers throughout China and support Global Key Account
development in China and Asia, support the growth of E&E, CIG and Automotive
activities in the region as well as serve the entire Chinese market
through distribution.
Rhodia Engineering Plastics serves markets as varied as Automotive,
Electrical & Electronic, Consumer and Industrial Goods, and all their
sites are accredited to the QS 9000 standard, and all European sites
have achieved the ISO/TS 16949 technical specifications.

The new plant is designed with the most modern equipment and process,
like compounding automatization and packaging, in a friendly environment
for our team and for the community. It is a strong new step to reach
best in class product quality, delivery reliability and growth.
The new facility is designed to accommodate future Chinese production
requirements that are anticipated to face a double digit growth. The
new compounding plant will produce approximately 40 000 T at full capacity
and further confirms Rhodia Polyamide’s commitment to maintaining a
leadership position in Engineering Plastics.

generally in Asia, creating an exceptional production platform to meet
the needs of polyamide engineering thermoplastic customers throughout
