XVII World Congress
on Safety and Health at Work
Seattle, WA, USA--(Jobwerx News)--The first time ever World Congress
on Safety and Health at Work in the US focuses on prevention of injuries
and fatalities in the workplace, September 18-22 in Orlando.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and network with experts
from around the world, held for the first time in the USA.
The National Safety Council has named June as national safety month
in the United States. The Congress is a five-day event - including an
array of educational platforms (technical, practical, research topics)
and networking opportunities.
The World Congress on Safety and Health at Work is an international
forum of 3000+ professionals who gather every 3 years to exchange ideas,
research and best practices on highly topical issues in the area of
Occupational Safety and Health.
Attendees include: safety engineers and technicians, hygienists, ergonomists,
occupational physicians, labor inspectors, scientists and researchers,
technical factory inspectors, trainers and teachers, workers and their
representatives, decision makers in the public sector and in social
security, senior executives in industry, representatives of governmental
and non-governmental organizations.
DuPont will serve as The Premier Sponsor of the XVIIth World Congress
on Safety and Health at Work. DuPont is considered one of the safest
industrial companies in the world. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor's
latest available statistics, DuPont has a workplace safety record that
is 11 times better than the U.S. industry average.
The theme of the upcoming World Congress is "Prevention in a Globalized
World - Success through Partnerships." Unveiling new research and innovations,
identifying best safety practices that can be emulated around the world,
and providing recommendations as solutions for the future are some of
the initiatives that are expected to surface at this World Congress.
Organizers of the World Congress on Safety and Health at Work in Orlando
include the United Nations International Labor Organization, the International
Social Security Association, and the National Safety Council.
The Department of Labor (OSHA, MSHA, ILAB) and the National Institute
for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), are providing support for
the World Congress and are participating as important government partners
of the National Organizing Committee.
The National Safety Council is one of the organizers of the event and
serves as the American host of the conference.
