PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa.--Feb. 12, 2003--Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE:TFX) today announced that it has acquired Megatech Electro, Inc. (Megatech), a designer and manufacturer of industry-leading electronic and electromechanical products. This acquisition will expedite the development and delivery of innovative electronic control products for Teleflex's global customer base. Megatech's dashboard and vehicle controls, CANbus Multiplex platforms, and engine interface capabilities complement Teleflex's strong portfolio of engineered products for the automotive, marine and industrial sectors.

TBased in Grand-Mere, Quebec, Megatech is a privately-held company
with annual sales of approximately $30 million (US). The company
provides engineering and production solutions for customers such as
Bombardier Inc., Volvo Bus, and Carrier Corporation. Megatech
president Larry St-Pierre and chief technology officer, Yvan
LaFontaine will continue in their current capacities. Teleflex has
held a minority interest in Megatech since 1998. The terms of the
agreement were not disclosed.
