May 12,/Cologne, Germany/ -- A maker of machinery and equipment for flexible packaging, Windmoller & Holscher of Cologne, Germany, is installing new computer-- aided design (CAD) and product life cycle management (PLM) software that works together.

EDS of Piano, Texas, provides the two software packages. ( EDS continues to take the PLM industry "to new heights" 18 months after forming its PLM Solutions line of business as a combination of the former Unigraphics Solutions (UGS) and Structural Dynamics Research Corporation (SDRC). )

The WINDMÖLLER & HÖLSCHER portfolio encompasses blown and cast film lines, flexographic and gravure printing presses as well as finishing machines, multiwall equipment, paper and plastic bag and carrier bag machines and FFS packaging systems.

The company is now installing the two computer-aided design software programs: Unigraphics NX, the CAD system, and Teamcenter Engineering, the PLM software.

CMM 2003 in Chicago - Good Exhibition Results for all Product Groups
Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corporation (WHC), US daughter of German based WINDMÖLLER & HÖLSCHER (D-49525 Lengerich), international market leader in the field of machinery and equipment for flexible packaging, reports satisfactory results from this year's CMM. The WHC sales team was pleased to welcome most of their North American customers at their stand.

Printing press orders received on the first and second day were a promising prelude, with orders for two VAREX 3-layer blown film lines completing the success. During the first three months of this year, as many as 11 printing presses were taken on order in North America, which brings the total number of printing presses sold in the last six months to more than 20.

With 122 ASTRAFLEX, 75 NOVOFLEX and 15 PRIMAFLEX presses installed world-wide, W&H continues to be the leader in sales for flexographic printing presses.
