September 20, 2005 Successful Commissioning Of Plastics Bottle Resin Plant In China Seattle, WA, USA--(Jobwerx News)--Zimmer AG supplies Changzhou Plastics
Group with technology, engineering and key equipment for start up bottle
resin production plant.
Zimmer AG, Frankfurt am Main, a company of GEA Group, commissioned a
polyester polycondensation plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province in China.
The plant featuring Zimmer’s continuous polycondensation process technology
and the use of pure terephthalic acid (PTA) and ethylene glycol (EG) as
feedstock, is designed for a production of 230,000 tons/year of polyester
chips for water and hot-filled bottles in one line. Start-up was successful
and the plant is in stable operation. After a short testing phase the
product quality of the chips are accepted by large downstream producers,
not only on the local market. Moreover a certification of the European
Economic Community (EEC) and the American Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) has been passed.
