Montréal, Québec, May 13--Bombardier Aerospace, a leading supplier
of regional aircraft and business jets in Europe, will participate at
the International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) 2004, being held at Berlin-Schönefeld
Airport in Germany, May 10-16, 2004.
Bombardier Aerospace's commanding presence in Europe is fueled by the
growing popularity of its regional aircraft, particularly in Germany
where millions of passengers each year fly on Bombardier CRJ* Series
regional jets and Q* Series Dash® 8 turboprops flown by several German
regional airlines. More than 100 Bombardier regional aircraft, including
90 CRJ Series regional jets and 12 Bombardier Q Series Dash 8 turboprops,
are on order or in service with German carriers. These numbers are expected
to grow as European airlines continue to expand their fleets.
"We are very proud of our relationships with airlines in Germany and
the rest of Europe," said James Dailly, Vice President, International
Sales at Bombardier Aerospace, Regional Aircraft. "Germany is, of course,
the birthplace of the ongoing regional jet revolution, Lufthansa CityLine
having pioneered Bombardier CRJ service in November 1992. Now our regional
jets and turboprops comprise 30 per cent of the 20- to 90-seat fleets
of Europe's regional airlines. We remain strongly committed to working
closely with our European airline partners to provide reliable and efficient
regional airline transportation."
Bombardier's comprehensive range of business aircraft also continues
to attract significant interest among operators throughout the region.
Bombardier Aerospace is a leader in the German and European business
aviation market, with 83 Bombardier business jets based in Germany and
over 253 throughout Europe.
"Bombardier Aerospace is committed to developing products that meet
the evolving needs of aircraft operators. Two new business jets entered
service in January 2004; the super-midsize Bombardier Challenger 300
and the Bombardier Learjet 40 premium light jet, and a third, the super
large Bombardier Global 5000, is scheduled to enter service in the fourth
quarter of 2004. All three aircraft are ideally suited for the European
market in general and Germany in particular," said Bob Horner, Regional
Vice President, Sales, Europe, Bombardier Aerospace, Business Aircraft.
"Bombardier has a long-standing presence in Germany's aerospace industry.
We intend to continue building on our leadership position in the country
by continuing to offer innovative transportation and service solutions."
