Making CNC Programming Quicker And Easier

Manufacturing News Center

Abstract-- PartMaker Mill Software Automates repetitive operations such as making holes, slots and pockets. Optimizes machining time for multi-piece setups, tombstone fixtures, and 4th Axis Indexers.

Hardinge Inc., now offers PartMaker CAD/CAM software for use with its CNC Milling, Turning, Mill-Turn and Swiss-Turn Lathe machines. This partnership provides our customers with another productivity solution. PartMaker CAM software for Microsoft Windows was developed by IMCS to greatly reduce part programming time. PartMaker is the first practical Knowledge Based CAM System and averages a 70% time reduction in the programming of repetitive parts compared to competing systems.

For Milling and Hole Making

PartMaker is the first practical Knowledge Based CAM System

PartMaker is the first practical Knowledge Based CAM system and averages a 70% time reduction in part programming.

The software captures the operator's knowledge in programming repetitive part features such as holes, slots, pockets and contours. It later reapplies this knowledge to the programming of parts containing such features, minimizing job preparation time.

An optimized process plan is automatically generated and machining time calculated. PartMaker is priced cost effectively to allow smaller shops to benefit from the productivity increase it offers.

Details for Milling:

* Windows user interface assures quick learning
* Pictorial explanation simplifies parameter entry
* Context sensitive help
* Tools Data Base stores tool insert and holder parameters
* Integrated CAD package lets users create geometry quickly and easily
* Tool paths for turning, contouring, threading and grooving are calculated and displayed
* Automatic undercuts detection
* User-defined hole making cycles support drilling, tapping and reaming
* Materials library information files easily modified to meet shop practices
* Optimum feeds, speeds, gear ranges and cycle times automatically applied
* Solid Modeling Verifier reads actual "G-Code" and simulates material removal
* Bi-directional DXF interface allows data exchange with CAD systems
* Post Processor Library contains a vast number of Post Configuration Files which can be easily customized to meet unique individual requirements
