Agfa's CR solutions including digitizers, plates and software that comprise
a highly versatile system for the digitization of medical images to be
offered by Novation.
Agfa HealthCare announced it has signed an agreement with Novation, LLC
for Agfa's Computed Radiography (CR) solutions and services to be part
of Novation's product offerings for digital imaging. Agfa's CR solutions
include digitizers, plates and software that comprise a highly versatile
system for the digitization of medical images. Novation is the healthcare
contracting services company of VHA Inc. and University HealthSystem Consortium
(UHC), two national health care alliances in the U.S.
The three-year agreement, effective June 1, 2006, has the potential to
generate nearly $25 million in sales for Agfa HealthCare, a worldwide
market leader in CR research and technology.
Novation delivers savings and values to nearly 3,000 VHA and UHC members
and must meet many distinct and important needs. "It is our goal
to provide all of our members with the clinical knowledge, product expertise,
innovative services and financial options that can truly make a difference
in effective healthcare," said David Starr, product manager at Novation.
"Agfa HealthCare has the ability to provide first class solutions
at competitive pricing from which all our VHA and UHC members can benefit."
Agfa began working with Novation as an official contracted supplier in
2003, when both companies signed an agreement for Agfa's PACS (Picture
Archiving & Communications Systems). Through this new agreement, Agfa
HealthCare
will continue to assist Novation facilities in their ongoing transition
from analog to digital imaging and archiving.
"Through this agreement Novation has chosen to align itself with
a supplier that can provide advanced systems solutions and extensive customer
support," said David Chambers, Vice President, Sales and Marketing,
Agfa HealthCare, U.S. "We are very pleased about the agreement and
look forward to providing services to VHA and UHC members."
Based in Irving, Texas, Novation
is the leading health care contracting services company in the U.S., delivering
unmatched savings and value to nearly 3,000 members of VHA Inc. and the
University Health System Consortium (UHC), two national health care alliances.
Through its public competitive bid process, Novation develops and manages
contracts with more than 700 suppliers, both large and small. By combining
scale and agility with clinical knowledge and product expertise, Novation
offers the most extensive range of innovative contracting services, including:
contract development, contract and supplier management, custom contracting,
