Heart defects are among the most common birth defects and are the leading
cause of birth-defect related deaths, according to the American Heart
Association (AHA). Advances in diagnosis and surgical treatment have led
to dramatic increases in survival for children with serious heart defects,
the association has stated. As a result there is a growing population
of adults with congenital heart disease. "We're excited to introduce
our congenital product to the European market," said Dr. William
Drake, Agfa's Congenital Heart Product Manager. "A large population
of children and adults with congenital heart disease will benefit from
these dynamic analysis and diagnostic tools."
