Atlas Copco Compressor Technique has decided to merge its compressors customer service and spare parts operations into a dedicated service division.

Atlas Copco Compressor Technique, part of the Atlas Copco Group, Stockholm, Sweden, has decided to merge its compressors customer service and spare parts operations into a dedicated service division. The step, which is part of the Group’s strategy to strengthen its aftermarket offering, will support the growth and profitability of the business area.

“By combining our service operations we will strengthen the cost competitiveness of the business and improve the service we give our customers,” says Ronnie Leten, President of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique. “This will serve to grow our aftermarket business and gives an increased focus also within the equipment divisions.”

The mission of the Compressor Technique Service division is to be the global leader in customer service, providing all service of compressors needed by Atlas Copco customers, with an extended range of offers. The gains from creating a single division include focused purchasing and the coordination of overlapping functions. The other operational divisions of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique are Industrial Air, Oil-free Air, Gas and Process, Portable Air and Specialty Rental.

The Atlas Copco Group has experienced increasing demand from customers to provide full packages of compressors equipment as well as service, training and spare parts. Atlas Copco’s business areas Construction and Mining Technique and Industrial Technique also have organizations in place for focusing on the service offering. The aftermarket, including compressors specialty rental, last year generated about 40% of the Group’s net sales.

Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area develops, manufactures, markets, and services oil-free and oil-injected stationary air compressors, portable air compressors, gas and process compressors, turbo expanders, electric power generators, air treatment equipment and air management systems. It also offers specialty rental services. It innovates for superior productivity in applications such as manufacturing, construction, and the process industry worldwide. Principal product development and main manufacturing units are in Antwerp, Belgium.
