WHITEHOUSE, Ohio -- BASF donates dazzling paint job to Lucas County D.A.R.E. car Captivating automotive coatings help 'drive home' anti-drug message.

Take an aging, 1985 Corvette that has lost its luster, add a one-of-a-kind custom color application from automotive coatings experts at BASF, and what do you get? A unique and dazzling color effect that will be proudly displayed by the Lucas County Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) car as it travels to local schools and civic events to promote the largest substance abuse prevention program in the world.

At the heart of this amazing transformation is a new custom color dye system from BASF called Carizzma(TM), which enables auto painters to create an almost unlimited range of brilliant, rich custom colors.

"The D.A.R.E. car features a combination of black, yellow, and red Carizzma colors that are truly captivating," said Carl Vickery, an Applications Technologist at BASF's Whitehouse site. "The finish on this Corvette will certainly get the attention of anyone who sees it, and that's the first step in delivering the D.A.R.E. message to young people," Vickery added.
