BASF opens new refinish coatings training center in Shenyang

BASF Coatings announces that it is opening a new training center in Shenyang, China, for their refinish coatings product users.

BASF Coatings, developer, producer and marketer of a high-quality range of innovative automotive OEM coatings, automotive refinishes and industrial coatings as well as decorative paints, announced that it is opening a new training center in Shenyang, China, for the company’s refinish coatings product users. The new training center will strengthen BASF Coatings’ competencies in customer training services, and in providing enhanced refinish coatings solutions - high quality products bundled with the best application techniques and training. The new training center will officially open on September 26, under the name of “BASF Refinish Competence Center Shenyang”.

“I believe the opening of our new training center with international standards will have a great impact on China’s refinish coatings industry,” says Hans-Juergen Becker, the head of BASF Coatings International Trade (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. “As the after-sales network of global and local original equipment manufacturers in the country is growing rapidly, establishing the new training center will allow us to further support the professional development of painters and bodyshop staff in China.”

The BASF Refinish Competence Center Shenyang will be located in a new vocational school owned by LiaoNing College of Communication (LNCC), and is based on a cooperation with Shenyang German Academy for Economy and Technology. The contract between BASF and SGA allows BASF to use facilities on a regular and frequent basis and to also provide its trainers to SGA for their independent training.

BASF Coatings currently has training centers in Kunshan, close to Shanghai, and Beijing, China.

Founded in 2005 in Partnership by Shenyang University, BMW-Brilliance and GBS Academy Germany, SGA is a leading training institute for the automobile industry in Northeast China with a regional and national focus. SGA is a product of concerted efforts by Shenyang Municipal Government, Shenyang Education Bureau, Shenyang University and BMW Brilliance, and is ideally positioned to become a leading base for the cultivation of auto technicians. The SGA mainly performs trainings, courses and seminars for and together with companies. Furthermore, advanced trainings and skill advancements consisting of special technical and commercial seminars and courses for company staff are arranged. These trainings give, for example, attention to the fields of production, introduction of new products and technologies and impart the latest knowledge and skills.
