BASF golf tournament to benefit Ascension Parish
program for women

Seattle, WA, USA--(Jobwerx News)--Money raised from the golf tournament helps fund critical services for women and families in Louisiana.

Golfers will have the chance to spend a day on the course while promoting a great cause during the 7th Annual BASF Charity Golf Scramble to benefit the Battered Women's Program of Ascension Parish.

The tournament, on Friday, October 21 at The Lakes Course at Pelican Point Golf Club in Gonzales, opens with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

BASF employees organize the tournament each year and since 1999 have raised more than $77,000 for the Battered Women's Program. Proceeds from past tournaments have helped pay for important services such as counseling and support for women and their families, funded the expansion of services, and allowed the organization to add a full-time outreach position.

"We've had great support from the community for this event every year," said Brenda Roussel, an employee at BASF's Geismar site and chairperson for the event. "We are expecting another big turnout. We welcome the return of teams and sponsor companies and look forward to another successful tournament."

Prizes will be awarded to the top five teams as well as to golfers who hit the Longest Drive, Straightest Drive and Closest to the Pin. There is also a hole-in-one contest and door prizes.

Entry fees are $100 per person, or $400 for a team of four. Hole sponsorships are available for $250. The deadline for tournament registration and hole sponsorship is October 14.
