Polyester resins coil coatings more environmentally attractive BASF Coatings universal primers with polyester resins for coil coating show pigmentation is chromate-free and free of other heavy metals and carcinogenic substances.
Primers and topcoats form the functional basis for coil coating. Primers,
applied directly to the cleaned, pre-treated strip, provide the necessary
conditions for good adhesion of the topcoat systems and protect against
corrosion. Universal primers, applied to the pre-treated metal, guarantee
a number of important functionalities with their film thicknesses of approx.
5 µm, for instance adhesion for the topcoat, flexibility, deep-drawability,
and reliable corrosion protection. Apart from their environmental compatibility,
however, they can also play a significant role in increasing production
efficiency. Rigorous refinements of a profitability-critical product therefore
yield continual improvements. Coatings by BASF protect surfaces and give them color and luster, for
automotive OEM coatings, automotive refinish coatings and industrial coatings. Read a recent press release from BASF about - 'BASF engine coolant fulfills the stringent demands of the automotive industry by preventing overheating and protecting cooling systems in summer as well as in winter.'
